Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.”
Somedays I wake up with abundant inspiration and I’m geared up ready to go, not questioning my direction. More so than not lately I wake up with a multitude of ramblings in my brain and I’m perplexed by the question of what next? I have always been a person full of aspirations, dreams, and desires but as I am adjusting to the new role of being a mom and wife (I mean really… we’re only almost two years in) I’m finding it harder than ever to figure out how all these things align.
Enterprising. That’s the word I would use to best describe my personality in all things. I am always up to the task of what is next, constantly dreaming of what I want to accomplish next in life. Whether that be with my blog, photography business, Beautycounter events, or my family I’m always ready to go. I want to live a life full of inspiration and fulfilled dreams but I’m learning I need to take a step back. Fulfilled dreams don’t happen overnight.. Over a week… or sometimes not even over a year. Would they really be as satisfying if they were quick dreams to fill? No, probably not.
I dream of photographing weddings all over the states, inspiring others to become the BEST version of themselves, educating women about safer beauty, writing a book, teaching an e course, being a public speaker and sharing the gospel in a creative environment, and blogging as a career (as you can read about here: 3 Ways to Overcome Blog Fear) I dream of being the best mom and being able to work from home where I can be with my baby and future babies as they grow up. I don’t want to miss a moment, NOT ONE. I want to give them an example of a hard working mom who loves the LORD and sets the example of never giving up on their dreams.
I think I’ve struggled lately with competition. I’ve looked around me to see who is where I want to be and I struggle with wanting to be there too. In the same breath I’m learning that the transformation and all things important are in the journey. The weight of knowing that it may take longer than I would like to achieve my dreams sometimes makes me want to give up completely but then I’m reminded of the quote “Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.” Earl Nightingale
