Blogging takes a lot of time, effort, and a whole lot of heart. Sometimes, it requires so much of our heart that we can freeze with fear. Asking ourselves; should I share this? Am I being too vulnerable? What will people think, how will they react? Do I even have anything worthy of sharing?
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7
Here are 3 ways to overcome blogging fear, I hope they help you as much as they help me!
- Be Yourself- with all things in life, be yourself! Trust that you are good enough! Meditate on what your creator believes and says about you and know you are worth it. Don’t be your own worst critic and fill your own mind with negativity. Don’t expect unrealistic expectations from yourself, be kind and love yourself.
- Stop Comparing- you are uniquely YOU, so go be YOU! When you compare yourself to others and their success and judge your self-worth based on what others are achieving and you’re not, you’re hurting yourself. It will not help you grow, so don’t do it. Don’t be afraid to be the person you were created to be. All of us have a different journey as bloggers and business owners.
- Be Bold-you are designed with a purpose and if you’ve been called into the blogging world then know you have a purpose in this space. You have a story to tell, advice to give, heart to share and trust me, people want and need to hear it! Don’t be halted by fear. Go boldly in the direction of your calling!
If you’ve ever felt a sense of blogging fear share with us how you overcame it. We can all use encouragement here in the FTJ community.
